Spinel
Spinel shares the same physical characteristics in all crystal orientations and is singularly refractive, like garnet and diamond. It is a member of the cubic crystal system and has the octahedron, which resembles two parallel pyramids, as its defining crystal structure. Spinel that are well-formed are rather typical in nature.

A tiny proportion of a set of minerals with the same crystal structure includes spinel, which is used in jewelry industry. However, not all of them generate translucent crystals that may be used in jewelry industry. Spinel comes in a variety of colors, including orange, bright pink, all shades of purple, blue, and violet, as well as bluish green and vivid "stoplight" red.
